Chianalea

Chianalea is the ancient fishing quarter of Scilla, where colorful houses are built directly on the rocks with the sea lapping at their foundations. Narrow alleys, fishing boats on tiny beaches, and the scent of grilled swordfish — this is the real, unchanged Italy.

The name means "flat water" in the local dialect, referring to the calm waters of the small cove. Restaurants serve what was caught that morning. Come at sunset for unforgettable views across the Strait to Sicily.
